Spring Mini Sessions. Lost yourself in flowers! {San Jose Family Photographer}

SPRING MINI SESSIONS ARE HERE!

Do you feel Spring in the air? Or it’s just me?

I kid you not, I get outside and I can smell Spring. Like literally I can smell it. Fresh, juicy green grass. The refreshing air after the rain. The birds chirping.

This weather we’re having right now reminds me of Summer rain in Poland. Well, a little warmer Summer rain.

Anywho, the rain and than the warmth means only one thing in here… It’s time to scout mustard flowers locations…

And that’s exactly what I did this week, and I’m excited to announce MUSTARD FLOWERS MINIS… (follow the link to read the details and see some breathtaking mustard flowers images from past years)

Spots available on February 22nd, 23rd and 24th

The sweetest love story! Stranger Challenger week 6

Yesterday I witnessed the sweetest love story in the making. When I spotted them, I had a feeling there is something going on but I was not expecting it to turn so sweet.

I have to admit, as the time progresses with this project, the project itself in not getting any easier. Approaching random people is still hard. This week I procrastinated until yesterday. And Sunday is the last day to do the weekly assignment for this project.

While waiting for my clients to show up for yesterday’s Valentine’s Day Playdate I was talking to Hailey, who is my partner in crime for this project, and who came to assist me during my sessions yesterday. We both hadn’t done our “stranger challenge” for the week. She spotted someone interesting and decided to go for it. I had not other option then do the same. It was then or never.

Paul and Grace

In the busy park, full of people playing ball, running, and chasing their kids this couple was standing with their backs to all of that. And that made me curious. I felt there is a story to it. The picture above shows how they looked when I approached them. And yes, I asked them to do it for me. It was not taken without their knowledge.

After a short introduction and explanation about this project our conversation went like this:

Me: “Are you, gusy friends?”

Paul: “Yees”

Me: “Are you, close friends?”

Paul and Grace: “Yeees”

Me: “Girlfriend and Boyfriend?”

Paul, after a short pause and with a huge smile: “We’re working on it”

If you don’t think that’s the sweetest love story ever then I don’t know what is. And I was lucky enough to witness it and document it for them (or for myself! 😉 )

Oh, the places this project is taking me… Inward and outward… It’s pain to do it, but when it’s done, it’s so rewarding… It’s kind of crazy.

Anyway, THANK YOU SO MUCH, PAUL AND GRACE, for the opportunity you gave me. I hope your relationship will thrive. And if someday you decide to look for a family photographer, well, I’ll be here! 😃✌🏻😄 👍🏻🙃👊🏻

Stop by Wildwood Park in Saratoga on Thursday, September 8th and enjoy mommy and me time in great company. During this playdate moms will have a chance to socialize. Kids will play and entertain themselves (and us). We will tire them out, so they will be definitely ready for a long and well deserved nap.

What’s most important, we will CREATE WONDERFUL MEMORIES for all the participants to cherish forever.

Magical Smash Cake Saratoga San Jose

Magical smash cake Saratoga San Jose

SMASH CAKE PHOTOGRAPHER, SARATOGA || SAN JOSE

Prior to this magical smash cake (well, it was magical for me) session we met twice. And I think, because of that experience I’m going to write a piece about the importance of being able to meet your photographer in non stressful environment before your session. But that can wait a few days 🙂

Also I feel like I should call all my session magical, because I feel like after each session I’m richer in something indescribable.

Anyway, during our first meeting little K. gave me a high five. And what I learned after that, she’s never high fived anybody else than her dad before. How cool is that?

The second time we met, it was for a location scouting, at the location covered with geese poo. Yeah. You guessed it right. We didn’t go with that location 😉

When we settled for what seemed to be the best location for what little K.’s mom envisioned, there was still a little of worries about the b-day girls itself. She’s very shy, and her favorite spot is her mom’s lap or her dad’s arms.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m always trying to ensure families that no matter what, we will get beautiful photographs, and the last thing I expect from the kids is to be perfectly perfect. That would be so totally boring. And so totally fake.

During this session, the shyness did not vanished from the b-day girl. While I was calmly moving around Little K. firmly holding on to her mom, the only sound around was the click of my camera. I loved how natural she was looking. She was intrigue with me, she was peeking curiously at my camera, but also she was very glad she can have her parents around, and that she can dive into their arms whenever she felt like.

The most funny part is, she made her mom and dad enjoy the cake with her. BTW, this cake was made by her parents, passionate bakers!

At the end, all covered in the chocolate frosting and water, we made the best use out of the beautiful setting sun.

Please enjoy some of my favorite shots from this session:
